LOGISTICS TRAINING CENTER: Forklift operation is one of the courses being offered by MetroPac Movers, Inc’s logistics training school
MARIKINA CITY, METRO MANILA — The logistics training facility recently opened by MetroPac Movers, Inc. started classes this month.
More than thirty (30) scholars have been accepted in the first batch of enrollees of the school, officially named OneLogistics, Inc. Technical and Vocational Institute (OLITECH). Sixteen (16) of these enrollees are incumbent employees of MetroPac Movers, Inc. and its subsidiaries, while eighteen (18) are employees’ dependents.
They are being trained in warehouse operations; namely Proof of Delivery, Route and Load Planning, and Warehouse Inventory Management. These short courses are TVET-certified (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Employees and subject matter experts of MetroPac Movers, Inc. concurrently serve as OLITECH’s administrators and faculty.
Classes for the pioneer batch will run until June 14, followed by similar trainings throughout the year.
Upon completion of their training, the scholars will be duly certified by the TESDA. In addition, the employees’ dependents who enrolled will be absorbed as employees of MetroPac Movers, Inc. or any of its component-companies; Premier Logistics, Premier Trucking, Trucking Pro and MetroPac Trucking.
OLITECH also offers classroom and actual trainings on truck-driving and forklift operation.
The school was launched on January of this year, with the goal of ensuring world-class skills and competence of its students.
MetroPac Movers, Inc.—a subsidiary of infrastructure conglomerate, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation—is the first Philippine logistics company to open its very own TESDA-accredited training facility for logistics personnel.
Along with land purchases and continuing investments in Information Technology, facilities and equipment, OLITECH seeks to further MetroPac Movers’ goal of becoming the best logistics provider in the country.
